Batocera Audio
Decided to try Batocera out on my replay instead of Win/dreamcade... It installed just fine. Controller and Wifi works without issue. However, I can't seem to get audio working via HDMI. There are a few tricks using the alsa manager that I tried but to no avail. Anyone have any luck on getting that ...

Re: Fresh Windows 10 install
you can download the media creation tool from Microsoft for Win 10 Home. It will let you create a USB boot drive you can use to install. No CD key necessary as the hardware is activated. Just skip the question for the key. I've done this several times and never had a problem. I'm pretty sure WheatPa...

Re: Image backup options
I did the Macrium Reflect image route (still have image on a key drive). Took an image before I ever even went through the initial setup (OOBE). One caveat, at least from that far back, you can only activate the software (with your key on the bottom) a few times. After that it gives you an error ren...

Re: how to reinstall windows without dreamcade software
I've done a full re-install of Windows and used the win10lite script to remove some of the extra crap. Works quite nicely. One of the drivers was a pain and I had to export a .reg file from the dreamcade install to make everything work, but once I did that it seemed to work quite nicely. And with al...

Re: Windows 10 Activation
Assuming you installed Windows clean on your device, did you put in a CD key during setup? If so, install again and hit skip on the cd key part. You do not need a key for Windows to activate on your hardware. It will activate once you connect to the Internet.

software activation limit
So apparently, there is a limit to the number of times you can activate your dreamcade software on the same machine. I took an image of the machine before I did the first boot. And while I've been playing with the front end some, whenever I would brick it (which wasn't uncommon), I would restore the...

Re: Factory Reset?
well..... it seems that I found a glitch in my reset image... Apparently, there is a limit to the number of times you can activate a key. I assumed it was tied to a hardwareID, but apparently not... I just tried to activate my cd key and got a "Maximum number of devices registered to this key has be...

Re: Factory Reset?
oh and I also used it so I could do a clean install of Win 10. Which I can confirm activates automatically. I had to flit back and forth (between retrocade install and clean one) to get all the drivers working. There was one that was difficult to figure out as it doesn't have any driver files. I was...

Re: Factory Reset?
So I'd actually used Macrium Reflect's bootable USB drive (freeware imaging tool) and took an image of the machine before I even booted it up the first time. The image file is just a bit over 8G in size. I've actually used this several times as I've screwed around with thing and broke the front end....
