Travel Case for Dreamcade Replay

Post by Alucard » Tue Mar 13, 2018 5:34 pm

I wanted to have my voice heard in regards to the Dreamcade Replay. I am so very excited for the release of this system. I wanna know from the fans and backers of this system if they would suggest to the Dreamcade team a Travel bag with 2 controller pads pockets. I wanna know what you guys think?

I personally wouldn't find much use for it, as I plan on plugging it in to the TV and leaving it where it is.
But I'm sure others would want to regularly take it over to a friends house, or on vacation, or regularly travel with work and so may want to hook it up to the hotel TV (or whatever).
I'm not so sure if there's enough of a demand to make a Replay-specific travel case. But, if you're looking for ideas and options, I suppose you'd be after something like this:

(making space for two controllers would take up a larger space than the Replay itself, so the bag/case would need to be a decent size)

RDS Industries makes some damn good cases maybe get some ideas off them or have them make some for the replay?
Is mayonnaise an instrument :?:

I would think that pricing would be out of the relm of possibilities. Unless one they already make would work.

I think some of the best options would be a pelican case the foam usually is customize-able. I guess if you actually want something heavy duty.
In god we trust, all others must pay cash.

A pelican case would be preferable. Specially if your traveling, or have it in your luggage/ back pack. I get nervous when I put mine in a back pack.

I was thinking about it, and that little light bulb went ping in my head that a camcorder case might do the trick.
I was eyeballing something like this. It looks like the Replay might be able to fit on the larger side, a controller in the smaller side, and the cords in the zipper top. However you might have to let the wall end hang out into a compartment.
If you are having a software problem be it front end, Windows, or want to try RetroArch and LauchBox but need help feel free to contact me. Post on the forum, PM here, or on Discord. I will be more then happy to do my best to get you sorted.
